Beech Park Golf Club
Overview
Beech Park Golf Club is a parkland course that is one of Eddie Hackett's many designs. He has constructed some of Ireland's most famous courses, including Enniscrone and Malahide, and he maintains the same level of quality and difficulty on this course as on his more famous designs. At about 6,300 yards, it is not a particularly long layout but it is no less challenging. The golf course even boasts its own 'Amen Corner' from the ninth tee to the 13th green. While there are some strategically placed bunkers that vary in size and shape throughout, the real threat is posed by the mature trees positioned to protect the fairways and greens.
Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. The layout starts out relatively gentle and builds to an exciting conclusion. There is a diverse variety of holes that appeal to all different skill levels. Beech Park Golf Club finishes with a long par 4 that is a slight right-to-left dogleg and requires a well-placed drive to avoid the water hazard that borders the entire length of the fairway.
